Swimming season at Şile (Istanbul)

Located on İstanbul's Black Sea coast, Şile has a character notably different from the Marmara shores: the sea is generally choppy, and rip currents can occasionally occur. Because of this, some beaches like Ağlayankaya, Kumbaba, and İmrenli require caution; coves surrounded by high hills, like Karacaköy, offer a much calmer, wave-free alternative.

When to go Summer months; since the Black Sea warms up later and cools down later than the Aegean and Mediterranean, the season may feel a bit shifted.
Who it suits For those seeking a cool, wavy Black Sea experience; families with small children would do better to choose sheltered coves with lower current risk, like Karacaköy.
