Ergan DağıErzincan

Ergan Dağı is a ski resort in Erzincan province. The highest point reached by the lifts is 2,960 m and the base is 1,735 m, giving a vertical drop of 1,225 m — one of the largest vertical drops in this tool. The resort has 4 lifts. Snow depth comes from the measuring station of the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM); temperature, wind and new-snow forecasts come from the Open-Meteo model. The elevations are not the figures the resort advertises — they were measured from the lift lines.

Five-Day Forecast

These come from the ski resorts service of the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM). Unlike the snow depth measurement these values are a forecast; they change as the day approaches.

Runs, Lifts and Webcam

No weather service publishes live run and lift status — it exists only on the resort’s own channels.

Snow on the ground does not mean the resort is open; check the resort’s own announcement before you set off.

Hello everyone! Ergan Dağı is one of Turkey’s newest large ski resorts and, according to the data we measured, it has the country’s second-highest vertical drop. On this page I have gathered its conditions — the figures above are live, and below I share what the figures cannot tell you.

The base is 1,735 metres and the summit 2,960 metres; the difference between them is 1,225 metres. Only Erciyes exceeds this drop. The reason Ergan is little known is not its quality but its youth.

How to Get There

The resort is about 12 km from the centre of Erzincan and a little over ten minutes from the airport. Very few ski resorts in Turkey are this close to an airport — arriving on a morning flight and being on the piste in the afternoon really is possible.

You reach the resort on a dual-lane, lit asphalt road; a serious difference in comfort when you consider the mountain roads of many resorts.

Pistes and Who They’re For

According to official figures, the chairlift has a capacity of 2,700 people per hour and the gondola 1,000 people per hour.

Thanks to the 1,225-metre drop, long and continuous descents are possible — the thing an advanced skier looks for in Turkey and rarely finds.

When to Go

The season generally runs from December to April. Thanks to the high summit, snow lasts longer in the upper sections in spring; when conditions deteriorate lower down it is worth checking up top.

Things to Know Before You Go

Lift status is published on the official page.

Ergan is one of the few resorts that shows on its own site which lift is open and which is closed, one by one. The “Run and lift status” link above goes straight there — the number of places in Turkey where you can find this information does not exceed the fingers of one hand.

The page goes stale in summer.

Lift status is updated by hand; out of season you may be seeing the state it was left in at the end of the season. It is reliable from December onwards.

The base–summit difference is large.

1,225 metres means the temperature below and the temperature above can differ by 7–8 degrees. We show the two separately in the table above; do not dress based on a single figure.

Frequently asked questions

About Ergan Dağı

Is Ergan Dağı suitable for advanced skiers?
Yes. With a 1,225-metre drop it is one of the few resorts in Turkey that can offer a long descent.
How far is it from the city?
About 12 km from the centre of Erzincan; a little over ten minutes from the airport. Staying in the city and going up to the resort for the day is comfortably possible.
Where does the snow depth information here come from?
It is the value measured by the Turkish State Meteorological Service (MGM) at its station in the resort. New snow, the temperature difference and the snowmaking window are calculated from a model and labelled separately in the table.
