Union

Bold Union is one of the teams that emerged in Ankara in 2021 and treats running with a wider sense of sports community. Built entirely on volunteering, the structure is non-profit and open not only to athletes at a certain level but to anyone who wants to make sport part of their life.

The programme is more than
running

Running is the community's main focus, but the programme is more than that. Alongside road and trail running, they hold events in cycling, volleyball and other sports. City runs in Ankara, training around Eymir, camps and race entries make up different parts of the Bold Union calendar. There is an active Bold Union community in İzmir too.

Perhaps the community's most striking side is its structure away from hierarchy. From running social media to pacing, and from race transport to organising camps, much of the work is carried out by volunteer members. Participants within Bold Union are called “Bolders”.

They have built their own system on the digital side as well. Through the Bold App you can follow events, reach the race calendar and take part in community activities. Their Strava club has more than 1,600 members. Because current training days, times and meeting points change from season to season, they can be followed on Instagram, the Bold App or the website.

From social media to pacing, much of the work is carried out by volunteer members.
