“Where campus meets the streets.” Bilgi Run is the running community of İstanbul Bilgi University, and it takes that line quite literally: born on campus, the community takes its weekly runs out to the city’s shoreline and cafés.

The regular meet-up is on Saturday mornings in Bebek. People usually gather at 08:30 and the run starts at 09:00, with three separate groups: walk-run, 4K and 6K. That way someone who has never run and someone who runs regularly can both join a group that suits them. A short get-together at the host café after the run is part of the programme too; ShakeUp and Smooth-e More are among these partners.
The community also works to stay visible on campus, reaching new students through stands at the Santral Campus at the start of term. Its ties with other running groups in the city are strong as well: they have held joint runs with Yeditepe Runners in Bebek and taken part in events such as No Reason Co’s Kınalıada run.
