About this site

The largest of the Princes' Islands. Five named dive sites around the island are recorded separately: Kurşun Cape, Güvercin Crevice, Sargos Rock, Masa Rock (At Mezarlığı) and Arap Cape. The regional records describe Kurşun Cape, at the island's south-eastern tip, as the most written about among them; there are soft coral beds below twenty metres. Archaeological wrecks and historic remains are seen at shallow depths. Around Büyükada and Heybeliada the current is generally weak, which makes diving easier.

Diving rules

Underwater cultural assets are covered by Turkish Law no. 2863. Diving at these sites is done only through authorized dive centers and in line with the published rules.
